INTERPRETIVE OVERVIEW
The premise is that we are portraying a time and a place not necessarily connected to the site where we are geographically in the 21st century. There may not be any Royal Navy or European presence at a particular event. So our connection is the Great Lakes and the people living in its watershed.
We are the crew of the Schooner Nancy. We are the Citizens of Sandwich, Upper Canada, her home port. We are a diverse lot drawing on all strata of society and embracing the diversity of cultural traditions in and around Sandwich. Stories are derived from various perspectives. These are the stories from soldiers, sailors, and Native Allies, as well as, Canadian and Native American and U.S. Civilians.
The overarching narrative is the building blocks for all other stories told by the group. Those individual stories tie into but do not necessarily form one cohesive story. They are related to the agreed-upon account. We want a story that everyone in the camp knows and to which they can add their own plausible details.
